Life Story for Barbara A. Russell (Iceton)

RUSSELL, Barbara A. (Iceton) A lifelong Arlington resident. Passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on March 22, 2017. Beloved wife of Thomas "Tim" Russell. Loving mother of Jeffrey Russell and his wife Stephanie of Arlington, Mark Russell and wife Jami of Arlington, and her beautiful daughter Julie Moscatel and her husband Adam of Arlington. Devoted grandmother of Jake, Nolan, and Allie Russell, Mia, Lana, Gavin, and Thomas Russell, and Ella, Ace, and James Moscatel. Cherished sister of Helena "Lee" Kreuz of Arlington and Jane Bondaruk of Andover. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A 1969 graduate of Arlington High School and 1971 graduate of Aquinas Junior College. Barb then went to work at the Federal Aviation Admin. in Burlington, which she left in 1976 with the birth of her first child. She spent many years at home with her young children before beginning a career at Harvard University spanning 20 years. Recognized in 2005 for her commitment and dedication running the United Way campaign. She was awarded the "Harvard Hero" commendation. Her true passion was her family and she will be dearly missed. A heartfelt thanks to the exceptional nurses and doctors at the Dana Farber Cancer Ins., Brigham and Women's Hospital, and the compassionate team at Care Dimensions Hospice Care. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Sunday at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St., Rt. 60 (adjacent to St. Agnes Church) ARLINGTON from 2-7 pm. Barbara's Funeral Mass will be held in Saint Eulalia's Church, Winchester, on Monday at 11 am. Please go directly to church. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Dana Farber Cancer Ins., 450 Brookline Ave, Boston, MA 02215.
