Obituary for Joseph W. Flaucher

Joseph W. Flaucher, 87, originally from Fairfield, CT and most recently a resident of Maristhill Nursing Home in Waltham, MA, passed away with his loving wife of 26 years, Annette, by his side.

Joe's life was lengthy. He enriched his life and those who crossed his path with his wonderful stories as a young man who grew up with a dad that gave him the keys to his life. NEVER LOOK BACK...ONLY FORWARD...if adhered to...which he did...it enabled him to travel the world as a member of the Society of Jesus...New England Provence and experience such diversity that most never would have had the opportunity...he availed himself of opportunities most of us have run from. In so doing, he gained the strength to become the man that lived an incredible life with his merciful Lord by his side and always, in his hand or adjoining him, his Rosary.

Upon leaving Fairfield, CT, a place he had a never ending love for, Joe graduated from Boston College and joined the Society of Jesus. Throughout his 40 years as a Jesuit, Joe was a teacher, administrator, and world traveler having spent many years at Baghdad College in Iraq, Jamaica, and Bishop Connolly High School in Fall River, MA. After leaving the Jesuit priesthood, Joe finished his working career for Elderhostel in Boston. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Joseph J. and Emily (Jones), and brothers Donny and Bill, and sister, Anne. In addition to Annette, Joe is survived by his brothers David and Danny, sister-in-law Betty, Mickey, and Sharon, five step children, eight grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made, in his name, to the Campion Health Center, 319 Concord Road Weston, MA 02493

Relatives and friends are invited attend a celebratory mass for Joe, at the Campion Center Chapel, Friday April 7th, at 11am.
