Obituary for Richard F. Jendrock

ARLINGTON, MA. – Richard F. Jendrock, 92, beloved husband of the late Marguerite (Harounyan) Jendrock, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away at Winchester Rehabilitation and Nursing Center on Tuesday, May 9, 2017.
Born on August 15, 1924 in Erie, PA, he was the son of the late Mr. Frank and Mrs. Mary (Jaglowski) Jendrzejczak. His family came to America in the early 1900s from Poland.
Dick graduated from Erie High School in 1942. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Troy, NY) in 1952, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. While working as an engineer and raising his young family, Dick earned a Master’s degree in Business from Boston University. He worked for GE in Pittsfield, MA, and later for Raytheon in Waltham, MA and the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory in Cambridge, MA where he spent many years as the Maser Project Manager. He retired in 1994, at the age of 70.
Richard was a World War II Army Air Force veteran and was very proud of his service as a bomber pilot flying the B-17 Flying Fortress as part of the 15th Air Force stationed in Foggia, Italy.
Dick enjoyed traveling with his wife and fixing up his vacation home in South Yarmouth on the Cape. One of his passions in life was following the financial markets and political news but, most of all, he loved time spent with his family.
He is survived by five children, several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren: Eric P. Jendrock, husband of Sheryl and father to Brandon, Kyle, and Lauren, Chelmsford, MA; Nancy A. Cherim, wife of Mort and mother to Tali and Lilah, Dover, NH; Thomas W.
