Condolence: Among Rick's contributions to Concord was his advocacy for affordable housing. Concord's accomplishments in affordable housing is in part due to his time in Concord. His energy and devotion, so well demonstrated in his teaching, found its way in this cause as well.

Condolence: Rick was the first professor I encountered when starting a new program at UMass /Shriver Center. It was more than 15 years ago and I still remember being struck by his deep knowledge of the subject matter, and his way sharing that knowledge in a way that enriched those of us in the class and helped us to see connections we had not seen before. He was a gifted teacher and will be missed.

Condolence: As a professor at Brandeis University, I was Rick's colleague on a series of publications evaluating the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Program. Leading the qualitative analyses in these studies, Rick gave voice to the beneficiaries and intended beneficiaries of this program. He gave credit where the program succeeded, as it generally did, and constructive criticism where warranted. He reinforced his constructive voice with advocacy through the American Public Health Association and other organizations. He gave passion and insight to his students, at least one of which will join us at Brandeis. More than a colleague, he was a friend and powerful force towards better health care in this country.

Condolence: There are few people who you come across in life that simply stand out. Rick was one of those people. His kindness, integrity, humility, and genuine spirit were remarkable and he certainly made a positive impact on so many lives, including mine. I'm grateful that our lives crossed paths.

Condolence From: Williams Family
Condolence: The loss of a cherished loved one is the most devastating experiences a family can face. At times, the loss may seem unbearable. Please know that there are people who care and more importantly Psalm 34:18 tells us that "God is near to those that are broken at heart. He is the God of all comfort. Our prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time of grief.
