Somerville- It is with heavy hearts we announce that Jeremy Michael Kanouse, 39, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly the afternoon of Saturday, July 29th, 2017. Jeremy was the son of Linda Kanouse (d. August of 2016) and Michael Gorgenyi. His half-brother, Andre Gorgenyi and his wife Melissa of Chelmsford, cousin Kim Boudreau and her husband Darrell of Lexington, and many loving nieces and nephews survive him. He is predeceased by his grandfather, Curwood Kanouse, grandmother, Charlotte Kanouse and devoted aunt, Judy Kanouse.

Jeremy is remembered as many things to many people. To family, friends, and coworkers who knew him best, Jeremy will be remembered as a very exceptional person who’s presence was infectious, always brightening the mood of those around him. For the past 3 years, Jeremy was employed as a Utility and Tray Line Service Associate at Hebrew SeniorLife. His supervisor recalled Jeremy as “one of the most helpful, upbeat, nicest, and kindest individuals. Jeremy always had a smile on his face that could light up the room. He was the highlight of the day, everyone was excited to see Jeremy.” Jeremy worked hard to be the best employee wherever he was employed.

Jeremy enjoyed cooking, sailboats, traveling, and camping. In his last weeks he was able to enjoy a trip out west to Yellowstone National Park with his longtime friend. Known as the “Mayor of Oak Haven”, Jeremy spent his summers with his mother and adoring friends at the campground in Wales, Massachusetts.

Jeremy will be remembered by his friends and family as being a funny, caring, kind, and giving person who was a vital part of their lives.

There will be a celebration of Jeremy’s life held at Faith Evangelical Free Church at 54 Hosmer Street in Acton, Massachusetts on Saturday, September 23rd at 1:30 p.m. The Service will be followed by a reception in the churches multipurpose room.
