Of Somerville. Died peacefully at home in the loving care of her family on November 9, 2017. Beloved wife of the late George L. Olsen. Devoted mother of Mary Tremblay, Paul Olsen and his wife, Linda, Robert Olsen, James Olsen and his wife, Susan, and Deborah Raschi and her husband, David, and the late George L. Olsen. Beloved mother in law of Noreen Cassin. Loving grandmother of Elizabeth and Bruce Tremblay, Jamie Olsen, Kenneth Olsen, Warrick and Sean Olsen, Jason, Joseph, and Daniel Raschi, Lyndsay and Sydney Olsen, and Brittany Sliwinski. Great grandmother to sixteen cherished great grandchildren. Dear sister of the late Margaret Mackesey, Leo Sheehan, and James Sheehan. Gertrude is also survived by many loving and devoted nieces and nephews. Her Funeral will be held from the Keefe Funeral Home, 2175 Mass Ave., NORTH CAMBRIDGE, on Monday at 10am. Followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. John's Church, Mass Ave., North Cambridge at 11am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 3 – 6pm. Burial in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gertrude’s memory may be made to Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services, Fundraising Dept., 61 Medford Street, Somerville, MA 02143.
