MULCAHY, John “Joe”
Of Somerville, formerly of Cambridge. Passed peacefully November 26, 2017. Beloved husband of 68 years to Florence (Lumley) of Cambridge. Loving father of John Mulcahy of Somerville, Francis Mulcahy and his wife Lynne of Sugar Land, TX, Daniel Mulcahy and his wife Maura of Medford, Michael Mulcahy and his husband Daniel Lucas of Arlington, and of the late Stephen Mulcahy, and Baby Mulcahy who passed away at birth. Proud grandfather of Francis Mulcahy and his wife Kristen of Stratham, NH, Jennie Enloe and her husband Bryan of White Bear Lake, MN, Katelynn Mulcahy of Irving, TX, Jason Ferris and his wife Jenna of Portland, OR, Shanon Slik and her husband Stepan of North Grafton, and Kasey Mulcahy of Bridgewater. Proud great grandfather of Dante, Gina, Marcus, Joseph, Clayton, Grant, Daniel, Sadie, and Rowan. Dear brother of Irene Sawyer of Cambridge, Maryann Helmuth of Cambridge, and of the late Cornelius “Buddy” Mulcahy of Medford, Eddie Mulcahy of Manchester, NH, and Margaret Kilfoyle of Woburn. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends. He was a WWII Navy Veteran of the Submarine Corps where he proudly served in the South Pacific Theater. Visiting hours will be held at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St., (Rt. 60, adjacent to St. Agnes' Church) Arlington on Friday from 4-7pm. A prayer Service and Military Honors will immediately follow at 7pm. Relatives and friends invited. Burial is Private.
