Jean-Guy Morin (aka John of St. Amant Mover), 85, of Cambridge, MA, passed on December 11, 2017 at Aberjona Nursing Center. Beloved husband of 57 years to Gisele(Gagnon) Morin of Cambridge. Loving father of daughter Denise (Morin) O’Brien and her husband Tom of Burlington, son Roger Morin and his wife Gina of Deltona, FL, and former daughter-in-law Kim Shields. Proud grandfather of Megan O’Brien and her fiancé Ryan Buckley of South Boston, Kelsey O’Brien of Burlington, Matthew Morin of Chicago, IL, Colby Morin of Orlando, Fl, Jessica & Kaitlyn Morin of Deltona, FL. Dear brother of Ghislaine, Lise, Jacques (Louiselle Cloutier), Marc (Andre Laberge), Norman (Johanne Paquin) Armand, Ginette (Roger Caron) and of the late Claude Morin (Berthe Gagnon) and the late Rejeanne Morin. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends.
Jean-Guy grew up on his family farm in rural St. Roch des Aulnaies, Quebec and was no stranger to hard work. His occupations included lumberjack, furniture mover with R. St. Amant Mover in Cambridge and after the death of Mr. St. Amant became the owner. He is remembered for driving his trucks down Mass Avenue, tipping his hat to people he passed by and after he retired walking the neighborhood while smoking his pipe. He adored his family and the special times he spent at his chalet on the St. Lawrence River in Quebec, visiting neighbors and friends and tinkering in his garage.
