Condolences

Condolence From: Shelly Ferger
Condolence: I met Robbie through his sister Ruthie Hopkins, over 20 years ago, of whom I loved very much. Dogs For Life, Inc. trained Ruthie's dog Duke to tap a 911 phone in the event of an emergency. Ruth and Robbie thought this was the greatest thing ever! Robbie continued to support DFL's Veteran Dog Training program up until a month of his passing. I will be honored to give a donation to the Humane Society of Vero Beach in his memory. He loved dogs and was a true hero to our Country. RIP Robbie, and deepest condolences to his family.

Condolence: Sometimes people come into your life as a pure gift; Bob arrived in the Qigong class I teach a few months ago as a gift of enthusiasm and joy. I am so grateful to have known him for this short time. It seemed to me that the way he gave himself completely to this new experience, with enjoyment and thoughtfulness, must also be the way he lived his whole life. I am deeply honored to have known him, regretting only that there wasn’t time for me to learn more from him. To Bob’s family and friends: I wish you courage and comfort for your loss.

Condolence From: Dr. Walter Stone & Dee Ross
Condolence: “Bob” as we knew him, was an incredibly optimistic person with a huge heart. Dr Stone (and his late wife Jeanne) were neighbors of Bob’s in Vero Beach for over 25 years. I only met him this year as I’m a new caregiver for Dr Stone and proceeded to fall madly in love with Bob’s positivity and good nature! I was inspired when he wanted to join us at our weekly exercise class of Qigong. Bob took a real liking to it and even went by himself when Dr Stone wasn’t up for going! His quick wit and energy always brought a smile to the group. He will truly be missed by his neighbors. RIP Bob

Condolence: I knew Robbie in two different capacities. First as a lifelong next door neighbor, and later as a member of the gym that I own. Robbie was always funny. I remember as a kid talking with him over the side fence, and watching him do yard work in his Marine fatigues. He was always upbeat and had a mischievous look in his eye. Later, when he joined my gym, Robbie made friends right away among the afternoon crowd, mostly veterans and like-minded conservatives. He kept them laughing with his quick wit and sarcastic humor. He was very proud to be a Marine, and would regularly drop off a copy of the Marine Corps Times to be shared with another veteran. Robbie would underline in pen the important facts he wanted to emphasize, but refused to use a yellow highlighter even when it was offered to him! Robbie was a good man, a character, and will certainly be missed.
