SAWYER, Irene E. (Brodette), of Somerville, formerly of Cambridge, passed peacefully on June 16, 2018 at the Jeanne Jugan Residence, Little Sisters of the Poor in Somerville. Born in Boston to the late David Brodette and Hannah (Mulcahy). Beloved wife of the late Willie J. Sawyer. Devoted mother of the late Donna Sawyer. Loving grandmother of Todd, Aaron and Drew Morris. Dear sister of Mary Ann Helmuth of Cambridge, and the late Edward Mulcahy, Cornelius Mulcahy, John Mulcahy and Margaret Kilfoyle. Irene is also survived by many devoted and loving nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. She was an active member of Saint John's Church in North Cambridge. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel at Little Sisters of Poor, 186 Highland Avenue, Somerville on Friday at 11am. Visiting Hours will also be held at the Little Sisters of the Poor on Thursday from 3-7pm. Interment will conclude in Cambridge Catholic Cemetery.
